CCRR Outreach and Program Support Worker

The CCRR Outreach and Program Support Worker is a certified Early Childhood Educator who creates a welcoming environment and supports the day-to-day operations of the Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) program. This role provides assistance, guidance, and resources to child care providers and families, tailoring support to meet the unique needs and interests of each program or family. The position reports to the program lead.

  • Provide friendly, personalized support to families and child care providers, including referrals, resources, guidance on childcare programs and benefits, and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Manage the CCRR lending library and equipment, including bookings, maintenance, member assistance, and purchasing/development of Library material (e.g., bins, story baskets).
  • Conduct outreach and provide on going support to childcare providers through visits, calls, and sharing resources and age-appropriate activities.
  • Collaborate with internal SCCSS programs and community programs, such as Family Resource and Strong Start programs, to enhance service delivery. 
  • Maintain and update CCRR childcare directory and contribute content to newsletters and social media. 
  • Assist individuals interested in opening licensed child care programs. 
  • Participate in professional development workshops, community meetings, and Ministry or CCRR trainings.
  • Collect and report statistics for Ministry and SCCSS reporting and adapt services to meet community demographics and reduce barriers.
  • Stay informed on child care best practices, research and emerging issues. 
  • Ensure services are delivered in alignment with SCCSS policies, cultural competency standards, and organizational values, supporting the mission, vision, and goals of the organization. 
  • An Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate and relevant experience in the childcare field.
  • This position requires travel to childcare centres along the Sunshine Coast, so a valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal records check (CRC) with clear results is required.
  • Strong knowledge of childcare needs, local issues on the Sunshine Coast, and available community resources.
  • Familiarity with applicable local, provincial, and federal legislation and regulations related to childcare.
  • Experience working effectively and respectfully with clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across programs and with community partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and work independently.
  • First Aid Certification - Level 1
  • Ability to work independently, including one-on-one interactions with families or individuals with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and Saturdays, to meet client and CCRR program needs.
