Richmond CCRR Playgroups & Drop-In Programs

The CCRR runs various parent participation drop-in programs throughout the year which provide a safe, supportive environment where children and parents can play, learn, and grow together.

The sessions are led by licensed early childhood educators and are free to attend. They feature a diverse selection of activities, games, and crafts designed to provoke curiosity and encourage interaction among children and adults. Sometimes, there are even field trips!

The sessions also give parents an opportunity to network and make new friends in the community. As well, we regularly invite guest speakers to discuss different topics related to early childhood development.

Visit our community calendar for a complete schedule of upcoming CCRR drop-in programs, field trips, and events.

Together Time is a free Parent Participation Program for young children 3 to 5 years old. We offer a safe and friendly environment where caregivers and children can explore, play and learn together. We provide materials and activities that provoke curiosity, wonder and interaction with others. Our goal is to become a resource and support for families and children. Together Time takes place as in-person sessions at General Currie Elementary.

In this program, parents have the opportunity to discuss and learn a variety of early childhood development topics while their children (aged 3 to 5 years) receive supervised care from two on-site ECE educators. Together Talks takes place as in-person sessions at General Currie Elementary.

Cooking Together is a free in-person program for families with children (aged 3 to 5 years). Learn to make delicious and healthy recipes while children will have the opportunity to develop their language, cognitive, and social skills. Cooking utensils and ingredients will be provided in the class.  Sessions take place in-person at our office in the Richmond Caring Place and pre-registration is required.

Welcome to Junior Detectives, a summer free parent participation program where children (aged 3 to 5) can enjoy different outdoor activities and engage in experiments and STEM-based learning opportunities. Snacks and water will be provided for children in the class.
